I've got an 8000 and installed the firmware update with no problems. Everything seemed to work just fine until I used turn by turn guidance in Maps. The voice prompt is LOUD and I mean LOUD like the speakers might blow. At first I thought this was just me having the setting in the Maps app on the phone set to high. However, the setting was set to low. I decided to change the settings and retry and none of them seem to have any effect. No matter what I do, I can't get the guidance voice to a "normal" volume. Has anyone else had this issue?
LOUD Voice Guidance in Maps on Carplay
Have you adjusted the "Alerts" volume (on the right hand side when you adjust audio volume)?
Thanks for the heads up. I'll try that and report back.
Thanks, @Pjrm68. It was my Alerts volume. I've honestly never even noticed it and I've had the unit for 4 months. I'm such an idiot.
Actually, that alerts volume setting just came with the new update, so don't feel bad. Glad your problem is fixed.
can someone direct me where this alerts adjustment is because i have the same problem. Is it in the pioneer NAV or something with apple nav or? thanks.
Hit your volume button, then look at your screen and alerts will pop up in the bottom right corner. Click that and u can adjust the alerts volume
My problem is that my voice guidance is too low. I adjusted the main volume in the navigation settings, and the alert volume is also maxed. I do see that you said carplay. so do you mean the volume with apple maps or the built in nav volume?
i mean the volume with the apple maps is too loud. anyway, thank you so much for the directions. Hadn't even noticed that alert appearing in the maps in apple play appearing when i hit volume. Worked like a charm.
Is the Alerts Volume adjustment only in CarPlay? I hit my volume control while playing a DVD and in the NEX Nav system and do not see an Alerts Popup....
Nevermind... found it...
