CarPlay and video playback?

I know this sounds stupid at first but please hear me out. This is NOT about being able to drive while watching videos.

 

I'm trying to understand the technical aspects of CarPlay. How does it handle video podcasts from the Podcasts app? Will they play (when parked). Are they not shown at all? Will it allow you to play back the audio only of a video podcast? Thanks.

You will receive audio alone in carplay for your video podcast.

i try this and video play on your phone only audio on HU.

vietnight, did you initiate the video from the phone or from the head unit? Very curious how this all works. Thanks.

i start from HU it start and play only hear sound from HU when i start driving it stop, and video play on iphone, after it stop you can start again on the phone is work but video on the phone.
