When I connect my phone, it takes almost a full ten seconds from the moment I unlock my phone for CarPlay to be ready for use (icons on screen, ready to go). I'm wondering if this is about the average, or if my connection is slow.

I'm asking because I have my phone hooked up to my 4000NEX using the official Pioneer 30-pin cable and a Lightning Adapter on top of that. So, I'm wondering if using the old cable with the Lightning Adapter might be slowing things down a bit, or if it would be the same if I used only a Lightning cable.

I'd appreciate any input on this that anyone can offer. Thanks.

Mine is about 5 seconds. This is with a 4000NEX and an iPhone 5s running iOS 8.1.

Thanks for the response. I should have said above that I'm using an iPhone 6 with IOS 8.1.

My pure lightning connected 8000NEX and iPhone 6+ with 8.1 connects in 6-7 seconds.
