I killed the drive in my avic z1.. if i do the maps thing will that make a new drive work my old one is destroyed..is there an iso i could burn to the drive to be back up and running... i tried down loading the image for the maps but no seeds

i'm still learning myself, i downloaded the new 2012 map image and flashed it to a spare hdd but all i get is "hdd not compatible"  i tried unlocking my oem hdd and flashing it to a spare after imaging with acronis also and get the same msg, maybe a pro will chime in, or ill figure it out sooner or later 

 i'm awaiting on a couple of 2.5 to 3.5 hdd ide adapters so i can use ghost instead of acronis drive to drive clone

If your drive is dead, and you need a new one anyway, you might as wel buy a drive with the software pre-installed from f.i.  garrettoomey on this forum....
