anyway i could quickly mute the volume, like the lady does when she tells me where to go? because when i come across police officers i like to have the advantage of lowering it quickly before i get a 200+ dollar ticket. i've looked in the manual and came across nothing :\

You can take the cell mute wire and a toggle switch.

Put the cell mute wire on one side, and a grounded wire on the other.

Flip the switch, and your D2 is muted.

To the op a pioneer remote with a mute/att button will work.

so theres no otherway? because most decks have dedicated attenuating buttons

Hold down the source button. It will turn everything off but the navigation prompts until you are safely past the supertrooper

in case of sever emergencies, I also hit the voice navigation button on my box, and it lowers the music significantly for about 30 secs, that buys me time to do what i need to do. Too bad the D3 doesnt have voice commands.

i just installed my d3 today and i also came across this situation. so is there any way besides having to manually turn the knob or buying the remote? i'd have no other use for the remote otherwise.

there must be another way...any ideas?
