The only thing that I recall seeing that is new/updated is the POI icons. And it came remember your most common route home, which should already be established in your own brain.

how do you figure that they've got the Ipod integration improved on the D3, and not on the Z2?

Because the iPod integration in the D3 is a hardware change. The only difference between the Z1 and Z2 will be the software. The Z3 will probably have the new iPod integration.
