first i wanted to say i've had a lot of pioneer indash units, and i just came accross this site and its very impressive, i wish i knew about this earlier.

anyway, i just got the Avic D3.

my main concern is this, i don't want to hook up the Pink wire, which is the Speed Sensor wire for the Navi.

so my main question is that is this wire necessary to be hooked up?

will my navi work fine without it?

Welcome to the site. The vss is not needed, how ever it will improve the accurcay a bit.

why would you not want to hook it up? That makes no sense. Does that mean you can't find the wire?

That or lazy. Mine wasn't hooked up for 8 months or so. And the vss is in the diagnostics plug 12 inches from the radio....

well i'm not sure which wire exactly it goes too, so i'm going to run it near the ECU, and when i get my alarm installed, i'll ask them to hook it up.

and no i'm not lazy..lol
