I want to connect my ipod video in order to play the videos I have on them. Is that possible and what adapters do I need?

There aren't any ipod docks that will directly allow the ivdeo to go from the ipod to the screen. You'll need that video ipod home dock a power supply for it and jack it into the av input of the avic.

I got this, installed it and it is just perfect. Havent found anything better. It charges the ipod as well and the music quality is much better than the others since it uses the data port instead of the headphone port.

Ok so I found a cable that attaches to dock connector and has the rca output but do I need an adapter for the back of the avic-z1. I don't see the 3 holes for the rca plugs. Do I need an adapter for this?

The z1 comes with an adapter cable which plugs into one of the rectangular recepticals on the back of the unit and there are female RCA plugs on that cable which any video output will connect to.

OH yeah, wow I feel stupid but one more question and i will stop with my idiotis questions. The av inputs in the back, do any of them have s-video input instead of the regular rca?

No only RCA, but if you have something that is svideo out and you want to input that into the z1, you can just get an adapter to merge the svideo signals into one RCA video connector.

Hmm...so the pioneer iPOD controls that hook up for audio from your iPOD, won't work to play video? Talk about not seeing a big opportunity by pioneer.

That is correct. It will play the audio but not video.
