I completed the bypass without grounding the mute wire. In fact when it was grounded it muted everything. So i cut it so it was no longer grounded and it works perfect??? Any thoughts?
AVIC BYPASS
did you move the wire to the proper position before you grounded it?
Well i found out this morning that by me not grounding the mute wire , it does not work ...(the bypass that is)....When i orginally went to switch it i broke the pin that we are supposed toplace in the diffrent hole. What should I DO NOw?????????
call an installer
what would they do for me?
repin it properly
Forgot a step there bud. MOVE the mute wire first. then ground it and the p-brake wire.
i did move it, and the pin broke....no what???????
Order a new harness and be more careful next time.
i'm about to move my pin also. whats the best way to this wothout breaking anything???
get a jewlers screw driver and push on the metal tap on the crimp keeping it in. ONce the tab is pushed down, you can gently remove the wire. Some guys stole my instructions and posted a thread about it. Feel free to look at it.
I just did it before i saw the replies. Thanks anyway guys.
What i did was use a tiny flathead screwdriver. I lifted the white nub that holds the pin in place. While lifted i just pulled the mute wire right out.
The mute pin broke , I need a quick fix.....ANY SUGGESTIONS.......
Buying a new one is my last resort it is 40 Dollars
Can someone tell me when relocating the mute wire(yellow/Black) in the harness to the open space in the connector. What does that pin control & why was there no wire to begin with. Thanks cfde76( new to this site, alot of great info
)
its the pioneer service override
the reason there was no wire there to begin with is because it's illegal to drive around watching a video... companies do that so it's harder for us to do illegal things like watching a video or changing our navi route while we're driving... and obviously.... moving the pin allows you to watch video.. and more than likely so pioneer can service the units when they get shipped to them for service
misfit beat me to it lol
just like 'blackbox' makers, or 'glass pipe' (bong) makers know what you are going to be using there product for, they can't exactly advertise it....they just give you the capabilities, and make it so its not too difficult for the consumer to do if thats their intention....moving a wire and grounding it from an installers point of view is not exactly rocket science
Thanks
,cfde76
After looking at the radio harness. I noticed that the blank opening that everybody is talking about requires a larger wire. The pins are bigger, so mute wire really won't work .so what is my next choice.
Thanks cfde76
thats the way to do it dude, its the same pin
