OK, the dust has settled a little....a bunch of forum members have purchased and installed their D3's, and learned the pros and cons.....now, can you still make a convincing argument for the Z2 over the D3, or the D3 over the Z2?

no one has a Z2 yet so how can you compare?

I actually have both the D3 and Z1. Id still go with the Z1 dispite all its flaws, and there are many.

Overall, Id say that the D3 is a better entertainment console, with its ability to play DIVX/XVID and mp3 DVDs.However, I dont like the fact that I have to keep swapping out my navigation discs, and gets old very fast. I am definitely more happy with my Z1 though.

So, is it fair to say that if the bulk of your entertainment activity was a mix of XM and Ipod, you'd be better off w/the D3?

I would have to agree with that because the Ipod interface is much better on the D3 than the Z1 because of hardware improvments. The Z2 will only have software updates so i dont think it will be any better. I dont really use my XM other than for navtraffic.

With Sirius, Ipod, and Xm, I still haven't taken out the nav disk for my D3. If you primarily use those sources, the D3 is a more inexpensive choice than the Z2 if you can put up with the smaller screen. Love mine so far

the faster ipod and the changeable illumination of the d3 are almost enough to make me switch from my z1, but if your really anal about dash appearance,(like i am), the z1 definitely has the cleanest look with its narrow, even all around frame. i just cant get used to the offset face of the d3 after having the z1
