The wiring harness for the '07 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has FINALLY started shipping, and I'll have one in about a week...so, it's time to stop screwing around and buy my system, which will be HU, Bluetooth, Ipod Connect, XM w/Traffic, and Rear Camera.
Which deal do I take:

I know there are pros and cons to each. What would you guys do. I know there's been threads on these units, so give me a break.
I think your answer is going to be very skewed towards the d3 since this is an avic forum. So I'll be the first to vote for a d3.
well, like cntrylvr said, d3 is the latest and greatest thing, you have done alot of reading and investigation here I see, so dont let that go to waste, take the plunge and enjoy it!

You're right it won't, but then again the only poi's I'm normally looking for are chains like mcdonalds, booger king, etc.

The map display is hideous on the Kenwood. You would think for that price they could make it look a little less 1980s. My vote is for the D3 but I am totally biased because I love mine

have you seen the map (2D & 3D) on the 7100. the 3D is a little cartoony, but that is the only thing i can see wrong about it.

please explain what the readout is if you punch in burger king, etc....does it give a listing of serveral of them, and show the distance next to each listing, and then you click on the one you want? If that's not it, how does it work?
Ya, saw it yesterday for the first time. Wasn't impressed
my decision may get made for me...I'm going on a 6 week trip (business) on April 6, and if the D3 isn't available from Crutchfield by then, I'm going the Kenwood route. Hopefully, the D3 will come in as it's cheaper, and the support mechanism is better with that unit......but the Kenwood is kind of cool w/TTS, garage door opener, USB, Garmin, etc.

That's exactly how it works. If my camera didn't suck do bad at taking pics of the screen I'd take a couple but ahh such is life.
