whats new on the N3 compared to the N2 ?
I heard that the iPod Interface is much improved, anything else ?

Is it true that the N1 = European X1 and N2 = X1R ?
Do you know if one could simply use the N2 with a European Map DVD ?

There are other minor changes... one I can think of from the top of my head is more Point of Interest (POI) categories. I think (if I remember right) it goes from 211 to 275.

Check out these two Web pages, especially the specs tab on each. You can evaluate minor changes that way.

My suggestion is open both in two separate windows and scroll down a little on each one, a little at a time. If you have Firefox, just use tabs. You might have to "hunt down" one or two specs (they're listed in different order or category), just giving heads-up.

P.S. I'm surprised, the N2 is now listed with the "Older Models." lol

I think the biggest differences, is the look is a little different than the N2, updated maps, and enhanced ipod and xm. Thats about it.

ive got the n2 with the n3 software... hoping the update would fix the ipod interface, but it didnt... will changing out the the cd-IB100II help any?

well people have upgraded with the new dvds, and said the same thing. And if you look on the pioneer site, they say it as well
