Ok ive been installing my D2 today and im about to be starting installing the pac steering wheel interface...well i was reading the directions on how to program it and it says that you need to program it using the IR remote....well my D2 didnt come with an IR remote...bought it second hand...not sure if they came with it in the first thing....so do i need to buy an IR remote for it before i can set that up???

Thanks

yeah thats how it works. All it does it record your steering wheel voltage pulses, then when it reads that certain pattern it will shoot the IR code it was taught to memorize at the unit.

Is there any way I could use my universal remote and tune it to the same channel as the avic d2 and use that to program the pac swi ps???

I dont think that is an easy task to do, but nothing is impossible. No one to my knowledge has done it though
