The service people are using to unlock their hard drives offers unlimited unlocking for one year. The cost is $2500.

I emailed them and they said it is OK to share the license.

Here is the quote:

"Hello,

According to our TOS available at

http://hdd-tools.com/products/rrs/licenses/tos/ :

"

You can share your Repair Station account with any third party; however, you agree to take responsibility for all usage of your account. We also reserve the right to limit simultaneous sessions at our discretion.

"

So yes, you can share the license with other people.

Should you require further help, please let me know."

If figured we can get at least 250 people to pitch in $10.

Ducatiboy is probably the most trusted person so I figured he could manage the account. I am willing to do it, but I think I am too much of a newbie for people to trust me.

So let's see if we can get the ball rolling and we can get this license for everybody to use for a year.

right on, good find, I am unsure that 250 people though would be able/willing to take advantage of this.. let alone half that or even a quarter of that.

good luck though

You might be right. But I think everybody should have a backup of their HDD.

But even if we only get 100 then it would be $25 each.
