Z-2 First Impressions - Problems

I had an N3 in my old car and I just bought a 2007 VW EOS and installed the Z-2 w/ IPOD, Bluetooth, XM Nav and SIRIUS. Found out that the "Technology Package" option on my car INCLUDED a video camera with the rear backup warning beeper, so that was an easy plug-in.

Pictures to come l8r today!!!

First of all wow, sooo much faster and love the voice stuff (when it works). My installer was able to utilize the Volume and mute buttons on my steering wheel. I was surprised that you STILL cannot load MP3s on the HD. :( I was also bummed that the screen still does not tilt forward only backwards.

Problem #1: Bluetooth is STILL very echoey. Do you think I should try this update CD?? I cannot at the moment try the volume down paring, because my installer changed the password and I'm guessing I need to do a level 3 reset to get that working.

Problem #2: XM Nav traffic shows green and red lines with accident icons, but ALL of the traffic buttons under information are STILL greyed out. Any Ideas?

Problem #3 the slope indicator is not functioning.

Thanks!

Problem 1. Try different mic placement and turning down the volume on your phone.

Problem 2. Try refreshing the XM signal and/or resetting your XM box.

Problem 3. Did he hook up your VSS wire? Is the Z2 fully calibrated already?

Update:

Bluetooth now much less echoey, but losses BT signal in middle of call.

XM Nav problem fixed with level 3 reset.

I have to assume VSS is installed otherwise the other speed functions wouldn't work, right?

Thanks.

No, Pioneer navs and speedo work well even without the VSS connected. I would check your hardware info screen next time you are driving around to confirm whether he did it or not. If he didn't, your slope won't work

What did you do to reduce your echo issue?

I did a level 3 reset and then re-paired the two devices with the volume at zero as recomended by this board and my installer. It still annoys the callers, but less so now.

I miss my bypass, such a pain in the ass to use VG or Hand brake!!

BTW installer is pushing final touches to dash faceplate until tuesday so photos will have to wait. :(

Thanks for all ur help.
