I can't offer any info, because I'm in the same position, but am wondering if the D2 itself is able to play DVD once an external DVD is hooked up, or will it only play the movie on seperate screens??? Thanks.

It will play on the deck while your stopped or all the time if yours is bypassed

I put a PS2 under my passengers seat. Its ran through input 1 on the TV tuner. Plays movies and games for my 6 yo. The TV tuner is run to A/V on the AVIC.

Ps2 is a pretty badass idea but the thing with that is that if ur driving doesnt it skip around when ur driving it obviously doesnt have skip protection or anything how does that work for you i have a honda civic

With the Ps2 you need and inverter as well. The don't skip though. I had one in my old car. I bought a cheap dvd player for my d1. made by sp2. plays movies well doesn't skip.

Haven't had any problems with it skipping. You can get a car adapter off Ebay for around $5.00. Its the shipping that sucks on them.

There's always the XDV P-9 from Pioneer, but then again you're looking for the range of $100. If you do find one on eBay, it works great with the D2.
