Guys my wife is about to kick My A#$$.... any help would be great... I put a D3 in her ALtima with a Sirius tuner and she still wants to listen to FM and it comes in like crap... I added a amped anttena but still comes in crapy... any thoughts..
2003 Altima
Did you check and make sure the antenna is pluged in the back? Also check that youd didn't pull a connection on the coax loose, I know on most fords (not sure about other makes) there is another joint in the antenna lead around the glovebox that can come loose sometimes if you are pulling on the cable trying to get it hooked up to the back of the head unit....
did you connect the blue wire from the d3 to the green wire in the radio harness?
Yea I did but I put in a amped up attena and still get the static... i made sure I was told that window antennas do not work well with aftermarket radios....
should work fine as long as you power everything up
You can also try moving the power antenna wire in the nissan harness to the accessory wire. Sometimes the power antenna lead of an aftermarket radio doesn't provide enough current to turn on the antenna amp.
Can you explain more? Not sure I follow... you are saying the antenna that came with the car? or the after market power antenna... I did relocate the box part of it that I mounted under the dash and it seems to be better but still wish we could use the factory antenna.
thats what he's talking about
What.. I asked is he talking about the factory antenna or the new one I installes? I did not know there was a power for the antenna on the factory antenna
yes, thats why you have no reception
Ok I will check that out then.... so its possible to make the factory work just may need more power... I am not sure which wire it is but I am sure I can look it up.. thanks for all your help....
i told you what wire it was a few posts up^^^
thanks guys.. I added power to the factory antenna and it works perfect... thanks for your alls input...
