Recently purchased the Pioneer D3 and i will be installing into a 2005 F250 Lariet Crew Cab that has the steering wheel controls for the stereo. (i will also be bypassing, changing the background... thanks to all of the great info on these forums, hell i even got the CF discount $20 and free BU camera thanks to forums)

I have searched around and from what i read here ( i really only found one f250 with d3 and Pac in the search), most are using the Pac swi-ps for the steering wheel control ( and that is what CF is recommending) so my questions are, Is this information correct? Is there a better or different model i should use? better options?

Is there any thing else i need to know? i have found all the wiring diagrams for the radio ....(what can i say, great info here!!!)

Thanks in advance for the info

I just installed a D3 into my Lincoln Aviator (Ford)...

I used the PAC SWI-PS... Very straightforward as far as install...

If you are not used to programming these thing, it was a bit confusing at first... I read the instructions about four times and finally "got it"...

Also, you have to watch a LED blink as you program it...

I was looking at the PAC SWI-PS box at an angle and thought it was not working because I could not see the LED blink...

But, the LED is actually down "in" the box... So, be sure you are looking straight at the LED hole or you will not see it... At least, I did not...

Once I figured that out, it was pretty easy...

Good luck,

Mark
