Alright I have been following closley to the bypass options for the z-2. I am looking to play dvd's while in motion. I have searched using many key terms, so please no smartass remarks.

My wife and I take long road trips and will be taking a trip with a 10 hour drive shortly. This would be a great thing to have to keep her occupied (and off my back, you guys know what i'm talking about :-)

Obviously, Pioneer has disabled this function and there is no bypass (yet). I have read you can just loop the av out to the rear view camera.

Now here comes the question. I thought the camera was video in only not audio. If that's the case, how do i play the audio in this scenario?

Any help appreciated Thanks!!!

I think the audio will play w/o bypass...just loop it to reverse input, have the reverse cam image up and it in DVD mode...

You could also put a toggle switch on the reverse wire. This way you would have the video full screen, albeit with the reverse message at the top.

The audio does play, it just gives you a warning that you can't play video while the car is moving. I guess this is so you can still watch a movie on the rear monitors and listen to it through the car audio.
