All Pioneer dealers can get it if you ask them to order it. Don't think they have shipped yet though

Wow, I was just going to type in Ebay before I checked, but these remotes seem to be no where online. Looks like Pioneer may be your best bet.

Again, wow to it not being on Ebay.

I ordered one from Pioneer and it arrived today. It was $15 plus $5 shipping plus tax. It took 9 days from the time I ordered it from CA until it arrived in NJ via UPS.

What remote did you order? I do not see the cd-r55 listed on their site?

Today for the heck of it, I tried an old Pioneer remote I had from my Premier piece, its the one that clips to the steering wheel and it works perfectly!! I don't really need it as I already have integrated steering wheel controls but it's nice for the passenger to use so they don't get their grubby fingerprints on my screen. lol

Crutchfield's site says they don't carry it-"Optional Remote Control: The AVIC-D3 is compatible with the optional CD-R55 remote control (not sold by Crutchfield)." That's why I ordered direct from Pioneer.

Can you order from their website, I couldnt find where to add something to my cart.

Guess I got one of the last from Pioneer directly.

On Pioneerelectronics.com there is no buy button and on part.pioneerelectronics.com it says:

Your Price: $15.00

Status1: Temporarily Out

E.T.A. More than 60-days

I called crutchfield and ordered it, i figured since people were able to order the BTB-200 by calling before it was on their website i thought id give it a try and they had it for preorder, i preordered it monday and it shipped tuesday! haha.

I asked Crutchfield also and they said they didn't have the CD-R55 all he saw was the CD-R5, so I ordered it from pioneer and received it yesterday. Found out today CF just shipped my D3 so hopefully it should be here next week.

So, what's the difference between these two remotes? Is one beneficial over the other?

I don't know of all the control differeces but the CD-R55 is labled for the AVH-P4900DVD and AVIC-D3,

I would think they would both work on the D3 but for $20.00 I just ordered the the cd-r55

I got mine from Crutchfield.

I checked UPS yesterday after getting home from work. It said "Out for Delivery".

At just before 4:00 pm, I checked again and it said "Delivered at 3:30 pm, - Front Door" Since I was home at the time, I knew UPS had not been there.

After trying to get ahold of some Yahoo from UPS, (they were not helpful), I was told to call Crutchfield.

They were very nice and said they would ship me a new one just as soon as they had them back in stock at no cost.

Well, at 6:15, the wife comes home and says "The UPS guy just handed this to me".

I called Crutchfield and thanked them - and told them that UPS just arrived.

Now tell me! When did UPS start hedging their delivery times? It must be magic!! I had it - and didn't even know it!!!

It was refreshing to hear the Crutchfield would at least attempt to make it right despite an idiot UPS driver. (Of course I am not referring to ALL UPS employees - just this particular one).

I got the cdr 55 and I'm not really impressed. It's big and lanky and pretty much you can only change channels, and turn up the volume. I guess it's good for DVD's but I haven't tried that yet. It would be really cool if you could adjust your audio while using it. I like my shit loud and constantly adjust to different songs. Am I doing something wrong?

Works pretty well for me - for the DVD functions. Since I use it as the primary DVD player in my Puddle Pirate Dog House.
