which wire did you guys hook for your amps? what color wire. i hooked up to the blue one and it has a selection of either always being on or only when the radio am and fm are on. i dont like either one because my amp is going kinda wierd right now. my is amp going into safty mode if i turn the system off but the amps are still on cause the blue wire still keeps it powered while the car is being driven, and basically no signal is going through it. but if i have it turn on only with the dont get any sound when playing cd's or other stuff when i select the other option.

We need more info about what you're running. i.e. aftermarket amps? factory amp? What kind of vehicle?

There are two power turn on leads on the Z1. One on the main harness (with power, speaker level outputs and VSS wire etc...), this one is the POWER ANTENNEA lead. There is also a second one on the RCA hardness where the preout connections are (Front, Rear, Sub, etc...) that lead is for the power AMPLIFIER.

That way if you have a power antennea it can go up and down with the radio, and the AMPS will use a different lead for their power turn on.

i noticed on that lead for the amps, it does not turn off when i turn off the radio function. it only goes off then the key is out of the ignition.

This would make sense to me. Often times, there is a delay and/or pop/thump from the speakers when an amplifier turns on for the first time. That being the case, keeping the amplifiers on while the unit is on (even if AV selection is off) would prevent such pops or delays once the radio is turned on.
