Purchased an RDX awhile back and I am somewhat regreting not getting the nav tech package. Wondering if anyone has installed a D3 into an RDX and how does it look. The dash is quite different than most cars so I am thinking that this would not be an easy install. Crutchfield has no information about a D3 in an RDX. Any help/pics would be greatly appreciated.

not going to be done, i just bought a rdx mid feb. You have to have the screen up top for controls. I got the tech package myself cuz i had to have bluetooth, and didnt want to fool with others, you might want to consider going down to the dealer and getting the acura one, its sooooo much better. there are a few things not the same obviously like no dvd player (which can be added for like 300$) and the navi works a little different, but the bluetooth is out of this world compared to pioneers cheap attempt.

oh and you can add other things to it, like remote start, paging capeabilities, works REALLY well. not hard to install either. i could probably give you all the advise you need over the net.

It is a honda after all. The only thing that sucks is going into the door for the doorlocks and factory alarm disarm.

dont have to go into the door, just the connector harness that does, i found it easier to just unplug it and grab the wires needed there. door locks, alarm arm and disarm as well.

Thanks tillithz for the information! I would be very interested in putting the bluetooth system in. Do you know if it would work over the speaker system in the RDX? I would also be interested in putting in the DVD player and rear camera. I am assuming they would work with the in-dash screen, or would I have to put a separate screen in? Basically, I wanted nearly all of the features of the tech package except the nav and voice activation. Maybe I should have bit the bullet but it is too late now. Thanks for the help

well you can put the dvd over head in or get a dvd integration box for the rdx's screen and use that as the screen for dvd. The bluetooh can be instaalled .. like the parrot piece. But honestly, i would bite that bullet now, and go back to the dealership and drop the $2200 or so and get the stuff you want installed there. it can still be done after the fact. There is alot of mark up on the dealers stuff, so, you can negotiate with them even. Theres no reason you shouldnt be able to get the tech package now, or parts of it. Then you could always add the dvd box into the system and have dvd display capability.
