is it possible to have it talk over the music instead of muting it ?

im not sure where right now, but there is the option in the settings menu for this.

Mine does that by default.

there is a setting that you have to get to when your car is not active. i think it might be under av settings.

you can choose to mute it. or play over the music.

On that same topic, is the Navi voice changeable, and/or can the sound of the DING be changed to something else?

Just turn voice navi off. This actuallly doesn't turn it off but it just says turns over the music instead of muting it. This is reallly stupid I think but it does do the trick. There is a menu function that I set up but now cannot find.

If you happen to find the menu function, I'd love to know what it is. I'm just now getting used to the menu screens.. took me a day or two to get my berrings.

I can't remember for sure but I think you source the unit off, go into the initial menu or setup menu and the mute setting is in there. The choices are like mute, ATT, or normal. Or something like that
