2006 VW Passat

I received info on the VSS & Illumination wires - but the info is not correct could someone tell me where I can find these 2 wires. The are not:

 

Speed Sense PURPLE (AC) ECU MODULE TO THE RIGHT OF GLOVE BOX PIN 14 OF A 26 PIN PLUG

 

PSC/ECU TO THE FAR RIGHT BEHIND GLOVE BOX

 

Illumination RED/BLACK (+) RADIO HARNESS

Speed Sense BROWN/RED (AC) IN HARNESS FROM GAUGES

Hmm sounds like the info for an older vw.

Crap, these wires don't work either, My installer said that the illumination is wrong "amperage"? not enough to trigger the unit? VSS not there. Any other suggestions? I have 2006 Passat, V6 w/DynAudio system...

on my a4, which is similar... i had to get illumination from headlight switch itself(turn it to the off position "O" push in til it clicks and turn clockwise) the wire is grey/blue. as for vss i had to get it from the abs module under the hood. pm me if u need any other help.

VSS is in also behind the cluster Also can hide the GPS antenna behind the cluster. Illumination at the switch is easiest
