No Voice Guidance Output

Sigh ... I made the mistake of letting Ciruit City install my Z1 a few months back and a few things were not installed: but my initial concern is the Turn by Turn Voice guidance. I hear music and also hear the voice when adjusting volume settings etc., but when i input ANY address the turn by turn audio is not heard. I've played with EVERY settting and tried to figure it out while i was under there installing the bluetooth adapter, but had no success.

I just finished going over the manual and they detail options if additional equipment is used but i'm running my stock speaker system etc.,

Any ideas of what i'm missing ? What i should be looking for ? Its such a pain.

Thanks in advance

This might be obvious but did you check the "mute voice" button (page 41 #21 in the operation manual)?

it looks like a little speaker on the main screen and it will have a big red X over it if its muted ;)

If sound is working for every other component then there is a setting that is wrong. The wiring is all the same.

On a hunch, I swapped the front and rear channel outputs of the Z-1 into the C2R-CHY inputs and presto she talks! Evidently once the factory radio is removed and the interface cables are installed you lose the front channel; I noticed there was no fade control when I was playing around with audio settings. I also noted that the attenuation seemed to work fine for the voice which was another clue that the voice was on a chaneel that was not connected. Things seem to be in order now.....
