Whats up guys im new to the site....i just bought a Pioneer Avic D3 new on ebay cause i couldnt resist the deal

Brand new for 749 with free shipping and the guy lives 20 minutes from me! Can you say same day shipping???

anyway, id like to get this installed by next weekend and i dont want to be paying 200 bucks to install it so im going to attempt it myself, maybe with the help of a more experienced friend.

can some one list me the things i need to install it?

i know i need an installation kit with the trim plate and whatever, and also an antenna adapter.... but is there anything else?

also, i need somewhere where i can find a good article on how to tap the VSS for the navigation.

Any other helpful info is greatt..id like to get a head start on this before i get it.

Also, i dont really care about the door chimes or steering wheel controls for now (do i loose all steering wheel controls or just the two ones that have to do with the radio?)

will i need a wiring harness for this or what?? id assume it would come with the installation kit?? help??

Even though you didn't purchase it from Crutchfield.

It's a good place to start.

Do you have the Trailblazer with On Star & Bose?

Without Onstar?

Need more information.

hey...ya i was looking at crutchfield....

i have Onstar, but no bose...i dont use onstar so i dont really need the adapter that retains it.

I think i found some wiring harnesses on bestbuy.com that would work with my truck but it wouldnt retain the door chime and onstar...whatever, when i sell the car the stock radio is going back in anyway so no harm.

IF you don't care about the offstar, chimes, or the retained accessory power, then the harness you'll want is a 70-2003. The only thing with that harness is you'll have to run an accessory wire from the ignition harness over to the radio since there isn't one in that car.
