OK how about displaying video on rear monitors from external video source or Pioneer DVD changer and at the same time using navigation on the front, is it possible on the D3? Read the whole D3 manual but could not find anything.

Yes is possible.

Yep. I just checked. I played music videos on my ipod and used the navi on my D3. The music videos still displayed on the rear headrest monitors the entire time.
