I have a 2006 VW Touareg with stock (base Radio) 10 speakers and no external amp. I would like to install the AVIC-D3 along with the iPod adapter and Pioneer bluetooth adapter and had a few questions:

1) Anyway to keep the steering wheel controls. '06 Touareg has radio volume controlls on the SW. Others, which I care less about, have to be accessed through cumbersom menu. Is there an adapter brand that works for this make model?

2) My sound system sounds great now, will I need to install an external amp in addition to the new head unit?

3) How easy is this to install? I alrady talked to a couple places and the install will run about $300 bucks + parts. but they wont do the bypass.

4) Can anyone recomend a shop in Chicagoland Area? I live in Naperville, Il.

Thanks for all your help.

Yeah, I am going to source all the parts myself. The prices at the electronics stores are about 20% higher then online such as amazon or other sites.
