Are the button lights on the D3 supposed to dim when you dim your dash lights?

Nope. Nothing dims on the D3 with your dimmer wheel. The only thing that dims is the screen, and that only occurs when you switch on your headlights/parking lights. And thats assuming you have your Illum wire hooked up to the proper source.

Thanks. It would be nice to be able to dim it. I wonder if there is a mod/hack for that. Although it sounds like a variable voltage input would just translate into a binary on/off signal at some threshold.

Mind you, I know next to nothing about electrical, so I may just be speaking out my butt.

it would be nice if the lights werent even on during the day & come on when u turn your headlights on. is there anyway to do that??
