Can anyone help me figure out how to connect the Treo with the bluetooth on the D3?

you connect it just like you would any blutetooth device.
Have you followed the instructions in the D3 manual?
Do you have your bluetooth transmitter on the Treo enabled?
I have a Verizon Palm treo 650, and it connects each time with no issue.

u might try adding the AVIC to the treo's list of Trusted Devices
Bluetooth -> Setup Devices -> Trusted Devices - > Add Device
Thats the only way i got my D3 talking to my 700P
once u add it to the list the unit should be able to connect to your phone just fine
