So i really like the black backround the navi has @ night time and i can see it better during the day too. but, it will only work if i leave my lights on. Is there anyway to make it so that the unit always thinks my lights are on all the time and stay with the black navi screen?

not sure if the n1 had the option, but most newer models have a night mode feature to enable

lol sorry i forgot to say i have a avic n2... i tried messing with options and stuff couldnt find a thing....

Hook the illumination wire up to the accessory wire. That'll make the display always in nightmode.

i havnt done it becuase i dont know which wires are which...

look in the map display settings. theres an option there that allows you to select night time or day time.
