I know thats a long shot... I want a Z2 for the harddrive... but hacking it seems to be impossible... is there any way you can use a usb flash drive with the d3... or is our only hope of a harddrive.. an ipod?

You can get the CD-UB100 USB interface but the control for it from the D3 is horrible. You get almost no control at all. So the ipod is the only good option for mass storage and playback of you media with the D3.

hmmm... still not bad though i suppose... how much is the ipod cable? and how well does the d3 sort through the ipod? all touchscreen im assuming? andddd... can you put mp3s on ur ipod? or do u HAVE to use itunes? wma?

The ipod cable retails for $30 and is completely controlled from the touchscreen (the only exception is videos where you have to press play on the ipod.) You can put mp3s and wmas on an ipod, itunes will take care of loading them

I have nothing but mp3's on my iPod. That was the major factor in getting one for me (since I rip all my stuff from Napster).

Get yourself a Ipod video and try it.

You will not be let down. The only issues I have had is some of my music videos would not play on the ipod so I had to go to doom9 and get the tools to convert my videos to MP4.

I now have about 5 gigs of music vidoes and another 3 gig of MP3's on my ipod.

Ps I have a 30 gig ipod video and its going to be rough filling it.

You can put mp3's on it, but it has to be done through itunes. it is a pain at first, but after some getting used to it's not all that bad
