I am thinking about buying a D-3 could someone tell me if the volume knob can also be used to skip though tracks on the IPOD. I am looking for a unit that lets me access specific songs on the unit without taking too much focus off the road by using the volume knob to scroll through tracks.

No, the volume knob will not let you skip tracks. However you can use the ">>" button under the vol. knob to skip tracks.

Nope. D3 is just as fast as most. I use a remote cause I am too lasy to reach up and use the > button. Easier to watch the road too
