It sounds like what your asking about is more of a spectrum analyzer rather then an EQ. Anyway, you can do as I have done and go with the DEQ-9200 which has a 4 band parametric EQ and an analyzer that will give you a dancing light show with the music.

Check here for demo: http://www.teamrocs.com/reviews/process ... eq9200.htm

Nope, currently note an option. Probably never will be either.

however, if you wanted to send your audio output to a carputer that had a spectrum analyzer and then send the carputer's video back to the avic (using the reverese input, of course), then it would be possible.

Never did it before. I was just thinking out loud. A 'carputer' is just a computer (or PC) that is installed in a car. Some people use mac-minis, others use a mini-PC. Doesn't matter (it could be a laptop), all you need is for it to have a composite video output (RCA plug) and a line-in. Of course, you would also need a spectrum analyzer software package that 'listens' to the line in.

So you would connect the video out of the PC to the reverse (backup) video input of the avic. Then connect the audio output for the rear screens to the line-in of the PC. Start up your analyzer and presto, you are viewing the 'dancing screen.' Oh and you'd also need a switch that would act as if you had put the car into reverse. This would switch you from 'regular' mode to 'analyzer' mode.

Probably a lot of work, and pretty expensive, just to see funny lights on your screen. If I were to do this myself, I'd likely put as big a hard drive as I could find, and store moives and/or mp3s on it.

...in a nut shell...
