What I wanna know is does this AVIC-D3 update its self??? I notice a few things on this system. I was drivin a few weeks ago and notice that it had a McDonalds icon located in a area that it use to be at and today it was gone and moved onto the spot where it now resides. And a few other new icons poppin up that was never there before. Anybody else experience this???

Nope. You sure you weren't zoomed out far enough that the icons didn't show before?

Autoupdating Points of Interest .... That would be pretty cool if it did ... a feature Pioneer certainly would advertise!

Ive never heard of that but it would be nice

I have to believe that at some point GPS manufacturerrs will announce a subscription service that will keep your maps and POI up to date in real-time. Either you download your updates daily, burn them to a CD and then the GPS incorporates the changes into its map file, or your GPS device includes WiFi built-in and updates itself whenever it finds a suitable hotspot.

Honestly, I don't even bother with restaurant or gasoline POIs because I knwo they'll be at least somewhat out of date the minute the DVD rolls of the presses.

I dunno I jus find it a lil odd that it jus moved.
