Where is the VSS wire located for a 2006 Nissan Altima? Im awaiting to call the installer if they are open to have them connnect the VSS wire to the unit, so I just want to be informed before i call them.

Thanks.

Speed Sense is the pink wire at radio harness (Midline or BOSE only)

On vehicles without the 5 speed automatic transmission, you can also use blue/yellow behind the instrument cluster.

Is there a picture i can look at to try to do this on my own? If i can see where the wire is at i can splice onto it and run it to the HU. NON BOSE system nor auto transmission.

Thanks again, I get LOTS OF HELP HERE and trust me i appreciate everyones input.

When you say intrument cluster, is that behind the speedometer? And look for a blue/yellow wire?

Oh last question, What gage wire should i use for the lead? Color on the harness is pink for the VSS right?

Yeah pink on the avic is vss. As for wire gauge, 18 is fine.

The pink wire in altima's isn't always there. I've done a couple that I had to go to a wheel speed sensor to get a vss signal.

Is the ACC on the radio the VSS? also look at the factory harness, which wire is the VSS there. Installer connected the ACC to the 12+switched and to the PAC which is powering up the steering wheel control module. So do i need to cut off the ACC from the joined connection and connect it where?

Either that or uninformed. Or just wanted people to go back and have them pay them more for them to connect it. He was working in that area how lazy can he be? lol. The actual work took me about 15 min but overall took me about 2hrs since i had to make a call to crutchfield to help me out a bit and just gather information to proceed and then take pictures and post here. Any way im glad its done and i cant thank you guys enough for the help provided.

Thanks alot guys.

is the vss wire of the 2004-2007 nissan altima the same as the 2002 nissan altima??

i have the 2002 nissan alitma. i was able to install the avic d3. everything works fine, but i didn't install the vss and reverse wire, please help...

also if anyone with an altima can take pictures so i can have an idea what i should do with my head unit.. there is no gap on the top, but there is a huge gap on the left, right and bottom...i'll take some pictures to show you all.... please help

other than that, i think its a great radio....

the huge gaps you are seeing should be from the old factory radio it had a shape like this (___) there are kits available online or at a local car audio shop that u can buy for a few bucks...the vss however i am not sure... if the pros on here recommend a dif color vss go with that hoever if they dont... if u do see a pick/grey wire back there odds are that yes thats the wire I am adduming u are using a wireharness and all your other wires should be hooked up by now... if you wanted to test it just use the tap supplied to tap into the wire.... then go to the connection status screen in the d3... with your car in park... push on the gas.. if you dont hear any beeps means you didnt tap into a wire that is always supplying 12v or u didnt tap into the tach wire which is good.... then try going in reverse u should hear a few beeps going back and forth a general distance but actually driving would give u a better answer.... the faster you go the more frequent u should hear the beeps... hope this helps
