Hey guys i just got my d3 in from pioneer. I previously owned a d3. I notice this radio doesn't come with even a cage! My question is, Im going to buy the double din dash kit off of crutchfield, but do i need the cage from pioneer's (ADT-VA133) kit to make my install successfull? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 
no the dash kit should be and "iso" mount
meaning it has screw holes that line up with the screw holes on the pioneer

oh cool i thought it might be iso i just wasnt sure. Yea my mach system is already rewired. Im using a 450/4 in my stang. THanks
Yeah, no need for an extra kit from pioneer.
I have an 03 stang and the one from crutchfield fits perfectly. Just use the two screws up front and your good.

Just picked up some stuff to wire it up. Now I am just waiting on my metra harness to show up on Monday so I can get it all done.
its all good my nigga. My kit will be in Tuesday I will take pics. letme know if you have any problems wiring it. I used to be a installer.
I have all the colors and pin numbers for the vss and reverse wires so I can tap into them. Other than that I just need to make sure that I properly install a 2.2k resistor into the amp on line so I dont get the amp thump (per someones suggestion on here). I guess just solder that little resistor into the wiring?
Oh and as long as the metra kit comes with a wiring diagram then I should be good. I have a good gameplan I think atleast. LOL!
your on the right track! I rewired my car and used a JL audio 450/4 so i didnt need to do that.
I would have gone that route but just spent a wad on fuel mods and new clutch setup so I can turn the boost up on the whipple.
