Are they the same?

I'm being told by my installer that they are a bit different and he can't use the z1 harnesses with the z2 HU.

Yes and slap him please . Totally identical. The differences between the z1/2 are all in the software.

Have any of you actually tried literally swapping a Z2 in place of a Z1? I mean unplug the Z1 and plug in the Z2.

Apparently the power and RCA harnesses are different for the Z2. I just got a second opinion and the second guy actually looked up part numbers.

I'm bummed out now. I have to wait longer for my new Z2 to be installed.

I did swap my bad Z1 for a Z2 only changed the HU'S all the wiring remained intact.

i also used a z1 harness for my z2 worked perfect !!

Hmmm. Maybe I'll try it myself tomorrow.

Could it be that there's already two different versions out there?
