Ok! New Avalanche Z71 with the Z2 installed last Thurs. Today after dinner at Outback the Z2 did not boot-up. Dead, blank screen!. Ing off and restart, nothing. Get home, pull and check radio and amp fuses and all is good. Start up and Nav is booting. Weird thing is that it shows my location 7 miles away at my dinner stop.

Also, I have backup cam in reverse but not in map veiw mode for trailer check. Installer forgot to hook up the MIC so BlueTooth is screwd for now. Alot to learn here!

TIA

Did your installer solder the connections or use T-taps for the install? I'd take it back and have them check all the connections.

It's showing that you're still at Outback because that is the last place it got signal. It couldn't update on your way home because it was off.

The camera issue soulds like the camera is getting power from the reverse lights v/s an ing or acc supply.

The new Peripheral LAN interface is very sensitive to current draw on the RAP output. It could not drive the Z1 and a PESWIPS. Radio only turned on about half the time. When it wouldn't come on it caused the acc relay to click on and off. Had to move the the PESWIPS to the amp turn-on of the Z1.

Big Dog 06,

I had the same problem with my Z2. Everything worked except the navigation. Mine stopped working at Applebees. I had to return it. It's working fine now. They said it was a software problem.
