I just received a refurbished Z1 sealed in the box from Pioneer. Will there have been any updates applied to it at the factory? If there was how will I know? Is the date on the refurb unit the date it was originally built or the date it was refurbed? I am having it installed nexy week by a authorized pioneer installer is there anything I should have him do prior to installation.

I doubt there are any updates applied. When I received mine from Pioneer it still had the previous owners finger prints on the screen and the music they added on the hard drive. It also had their home address registered in the NAV! So I'll bet Pioneer just does a diagnostics on them then sends them out the door.

 

The build date is the original build date and the serial number tag is removed so that you can't register it on their website for full warranty coverage.
