Hi, after reading and looking at this site I purchased a D3 Double din for my 03 Honda Element.

What else do I need to purchase? Wiring harness, Antenna?

Is there anything special I should know before I install it?

Thanks Bryan

if its a base model you need a metra 70-1721

if its an amplified system you need a metra 70-1726

dash kit metra 99-7801 might work

You'll also need a Honda antenna adapter.

Check this forum out for all the specific Element info you'll need:

You can use the same basic Honda wire harness if you have an amplified system, you'll just have to solder on some male RCA's to the speaker wires on the harness and use the pre-outs on your D3 to connect to these.

Yea, you're right. '04s and older don't need the antenna adapter.

Do you have tweeters in the A-Pillars? The amp (if you have one) is behind the passenger's side kick panel. Do you have an LX or EX?

Here's some pics of my D3 install:
