I AM LOOKING TO BUY EITHER A D2 OR D3, WHICH ONE IS BETTER, EBAY HAS A NEW D2 FOR 599 OR A D3 FOR 699, IS IT REALLY WORTH THE 100.00 FOR THE D3, DOES THE D2 PLAY DVD'S IN MOTION, WHAT WOULD I GAIN WITH THE D3 VS D2, THANKS
I NEED HELP DECIDING WHICH ONE TO BUY D2 OR D3
D3 all the way it is completely redone with much better features faster ipod control bluetooth and more and it is very cheap compared to the former model D2. 699 is a great price, it would be hard to find it cheaper ![]()
I went with the D2 for a couple reasons, 1 cause you can have the nav disk in it while listening to a CD at the same time, I already have a DVD player in the truck, the screen will angle, I dont use an Ipod, or BT so that didnt matter to me
Hey that is cool, enjoy your new radio!! ![]()
Depends on your intentions and what you’ll use them for.
I have the D2 and I use Navigation everyday for work and personal use. The full time Navi capability is a godsend. I love XM Satellite, and don’t remember ever listening to the radio since I’ve had it. I don’t even turn on the radio for traffic report because of having XM NavTraffic as well. I don’t have an iPod, and when I do want to listen to CD’s or MP3’s, I can still find client’s sites and not have to take out the CD’s and whatnot. It doesn’t play DVD’s because it’s DVD-ROM only, but I have a 6-disc Pioneer DVD Changer if my friends want to watch the Transformers the Movie, when we’re on a roadtrip.
My girlfriend on the other hand has the D3 now. She rarely uses navigation, because she normally just goes to work, school, and back home. If she’s going anywhere new or unfamiliar, then she can insert the disc. She lives off her iPod, so she can still have navigation on and listen to music at the same time when she needs to meet me somewhere she’s never been. She also loves her XM Radio so that’s another option for her. She doesn’t have a lot of CD’s or MP3’s so she doesn’t have to worry about inserting discs in the one slot the D3 provides. When she wants to watch a movie, she can just put it in, and the chances of her wanting to watch a movie and find an unfamiliar place would be slim to none, not to mention unsafe(even though we both have the bypass to watch movies while the vehicle is in motion). She also has a limited amount of space in her trunk because she has a convertible. Also when she wants to chat on the phone all day, she has the Bluetooth built-in the D3.
As for the tilting option, both our cars are Mitsubishi Eclipse GST’s(same color even...just mine is the hardtop coupe and hers is the droptop model) and the angle of where the head unit is located is at an excellent location to where I don’t use the tilt feature, and she has no option with the D3. Hope this helps determine which unit you’d like to purchase. By the way, we live in Jacksonville, FL...the largest city in the U.S. geographical wise.
