Well, I just had a D3 installed in my '04 Pontiac Vibe today... I bought it at ABC Warehouse (a regional electronics chain) and they did the install.
It worked perfectly for a few hours... I had a two-hour drive today, and had absolutely no problems...
After arriving at my destination, I ended up showing off the D3 to a few friends... stupidly, running off battery rather than starting the car. (Hey, that worked fine with my old radio; of course, that didn't have a power-hogging LCD screen...) Worked perfectly for a while, but in the middle of a demo the touch screen completely froze. The physical buttons worked just fine, and the screen would display... but not respond to touch.
I tried turning the car's power off and back on... no luck, the touch screen still wouldn't respond. I tried resetting the unit... still no luck... so I tried to turn the car on. It wouldn't start.
I figured maybe running the demos on battery would have drained it... so, I jumped the car, drove around for a little while... but still no luck with the D3. No go on the touch screen; the physical buttons were iffy too at this point. I tried resetting again while the car was on, still no luck.
I don't suppose anyone has seen similar problems? It is Friday the Thirteenth... maybe I got a lemon...
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
