Hello everybody. I am a newbie. I appreciate all of the info that you guys have provided on this forum. I am planing on installing my D3 this weekend and I have a simple question. I have searched this forum and couldnt find an answer, so here it goes.

Can I use the remote turn on lead to power a reverse camera? Is there 12v going through this wire? I am guessing that there is a very small voltage and that it will not work, but I wanted to make sure.

THanks

Nope doesn't provide enough current to power backup cameras.

Thought so....thanks. You would think that they would provide a 12v power lead that switches on when you go in reverse since they already detect when you are backing up. Oh well, Ill just tap into something:)

Thanks again!

No problem. Best bet would be the accesory feed. The reason they probably don't do the reverse feed is because you could technically tap the camera into the same place you tap the reverse lead. The problem with that is the camera would only have power in reverse. Which means you couldn't use it if you were driving and wanted hit the backup camera to see something behind you.

you could throw a relay in there, and have plenty of power if you wanted to do this.
