Hey guys, need some adice. Lookin to install a d1 in my 01 cobra, i have the mach460. I have read that this is a night mare? why is that? is the sound quality worse with the d1 versus the stock head unit? If so, whats the reason for this? Can a speaker upgrade while keeping stock amps help this, or will amps also have to be changed? Thankyou!!!

If you want to keep the factory mach setup, then pickup a 70-5519. Throw a 3k resistor on the amp turnon lead. Ground the amp ground lead and call it a day. Some people just don't know is all.

Or you can take that resistor off and get the cool Ford "pop" amp turn on noise!

I used the same harness in my '01 stang while keeping the stock amps and speakers without running a resister and I dont get the pop.
