Hey Guys,
I just go my AVIC-Z1 installed into my Sequoia today. It is an awesome piece of technology. It has replaced my Alpine CVA-1006. With my Alpine I was able to play video and listen to music from another source. Is that possible wth the AVIC-Z1?

Yes? Actually they say it will do that and it's in the manual how to, but I have never tried, so I can't say it can or can't. But it's supposed to.

Yes it can, I got my ipod video and xbox hooked up too it. Had to buy an av switch, cause the z1 only has one av input.

Yes, they advertize that you can do that. Video in the back, but the sound will go to the "rear screen" and IR transmitters. Then your other audio will play through the front speakers only.

I don't have a rear screen or rear IR transmitters to try it, but it is advertised to do such a thing.

Do you mean a video on the front screen and listen to another source? It will not do that. It will send the video signal from the dvd to a rear moniter (you can do that by bringing up the source menu and touching the rear source icon to say either DVD or A/V instead of mirror.)

yeah, that's what I was trying to do. Icould do it on my Alpine, but then again the DVD player wasn't built into the unit either.
