Hey everyone,

You would not lose your music that is stored on the hard drive. You will only lose your preset staions.
Your music is stored on a hard drive, which is non violatile, so no you will not lose your songs when your batteries die out. You wont lose stored locations like home, or anything else you traveled to that is stored in your recent searches.
You will, however, lose everything else like 3d hybrid, all those calibration, radio presets, clock, etc.
If this were to happen, is there a unique code that has to be put into the system to get it to work again? Is there a security feature on the D3 like this?
If so, where would I find this code?
This is the Z1/2 section for which there is no security code.
I just upgraded my truck, moving my Z2 from one truck to the other. The Z2 was in the box, without power for about 4 weeks. My FM and Sirius presets were preserved as we're my address book and navigation entries. The only things that I had to re-configure were my ext. monitor and camera settings. All music content on hard drive preserved.
I just wanted to thank everyone on here for the infomation about the hard drive.
For me (Z1) I lose all of my audio settings (EQ, camera, ext. video, etc.) It retains all of my Sirius presets. Not FM I don't think. Kinda annoying they didn't store these on non-volatile flash memory.
