I have a Z2 installed in my '02 Mercedes and I have properly connected the VSS wire and everything (shows up in the status screen and 3D Hybrid mode is enabled). I have over 1500miles on the unit with no problems, seems to work great!

I live in the middle of San Diego and frequently drive up to LA. Today, for the first time, while driving in LA the unit briefly switched over to a nice detailed city view with outlines for the buildings and different colors. a NICE change from the typical brown boring map...but this only lasted for a few miles and then changed back to the usual map. In the past 1500 miles I have never seen this map view before.

How do I always get this view? I assume since I live in San Diego, which is on the list, that I should always have a view like this?

Well in the 1500 miles I haven't seen it anywhere in San Diego and only about a 2 square mile area in LA and it wasn't even a very populated part of LA...

...if that's the case and you only get small patches here and there in some of the biggest cities...what the hell is the point of it?

I would imagine it takes up a huge amount of dics space! I have only seen it in downtown Chicago.
