I have a 2000 grand prix, and the company that installed my AVIC-N2 but the brain on a "shelf" behind the console (dash board) guess they mean on the floor? anyways... anyone know how to get back there?

It's probably behind the radio, squooshed into a nook or cranny back there. You're gonna have to remove the dash fascia, and pull the radio to find it. Why do you need to get to it? Need the A/V inputs?

replacing an N2 with an N3... I can wrap my hand around the back of the bottom of the dash and feel the unit velcrowed to the floor, just no clue how to get to it... any articles on how to remove the facia?

If they were smart they should have installed it below the center console. You will have to start at the armrest and work your way towards the front.
