NEW Model for the SIR-PNR2???

I called a couple shops and they have told me that Pioneer is supposed to be doing a new model and replacing the SIR-PNR2. They told me it should be about 30 days until this is available.

What I am wondering is does anyone know if this is true and if so, do you think it is in preparation for the XM and SIR signals to be processed by one tuner?

I really wanted to get my SIR hooked up right away (I finally decided I wanted to do it a now I have to either wait 30 or buy the old version) but don't want to buy the old one just in time for it to be replaced with a new and probably better unit. (Just like the BT100 vs. BT200)

Let me know if you have any ideas guys.

Thanks!

I can confirm there is a replacement in final testing but I cannot confirm what it adds in performance or features.

Ok, I'll bite... How can you confirm? You have a "friend" who told you this? Someone from another message board?

I have a family member (sirius employee) who is actually testing it.

the tuner is out, just the pioneer interface isn't. directed made the tuner and its up to the manufacturers to make the direct piece the 30 day thing is bs pioneer may not release it until the r&d for next years models is complete. get a sir-pnr2 if you can. the tuner is the dei scc1. hope this helps alittle

from one of our distributors, they state that the pioneer siruis unit will be replaced by a new directed electronics unit.model SCC1, maybe this is just our NJ distributor. but pioneer is having great package deals and a $200.00 rebate on the D3, pioneer is gearing up for some new models it looks like.
